I thought caffine was very taxing to your adrenals glands. There's studies that caffine increases cortisol which leads to stress and fat storage.

I'll look them out again and post up.

With prolonged use, yes but not so much if you cycle but this is true of most stims. You could look to high dose Cissus to counter act the cortisol effects.

Testosterone is the main sex hormone in men and woman, too much oestrogen is worse IMO. Makes them grumpy bitches.

There's studies that women with higher testosterone levels have greater sex drives. Doesn't mean they will grow a beard, unless taking testosterone injections. MACA does the trick. ;)

The thing is all the hormones are connected and womens hormonal cycles are even more complicated than mens as they have progesterone in the mix too. You would think that increased test levels in women would lead to a better body compisition however small increases will be enough to disrupt their cycle and still not be enough to increase muscle/lower BF. Big increases = beard.

Yes but naturally women with higher test levels have a greater sex drive. Not suggesting that women inject the hormone or anything, herbs like maca help to balance male and female hormones and increase sex drive.

Yes the key is a natural balance, I've used maca and it does help with energy levels, possibly with sex drive too.

Oops I must be the only one here that drinks tea like it's going out of fashion!

I love tea and when I turn up to work I'm in dire need of tea and by 11am I've probably had 3 cups already! (though bear in mind I get to work around 650am). I drink about 4 cups a day - the only time I don't drink tea is at the weekend.

Is it really that bad? If you can convince me it is then I'll try and phase it out.... but I also love my espressos :(

In the morning I'll have a big glass of freshly squeezed orange juice (with all the bits still in there :D).

I'll have about 2-4 cups of tea a day.

About 4-5 glasses of water whilst at work, and I drink a fair bit of water when I go to the gym.

In the evenings, I drink water, I don't drink much alcohol (4-6 units a month MAX).

Weekends, again fresh juice, water or very very very diluted squash just to make water a bit more interesting. That's about it. Very boring really.

I quite like some herbal teas but i just love the taste of a good cup of strong tea.

I reckon you need to drink at least 3 litres of water day. Probably more like 3.5-4 litres as you're a big fella. You didn't how big the glasses are so I can't tell how much you currently drink.

Since you have time in the morning I'd try 300ml of warm water with the juice of 1/2 - 1 lemon.
Freshly squeezed orange juice is ok since it is fresh. But overall I'd go with lemons. They stimulate your digestive system (release bile too) ready for breakfast.

Maybe cut the tea down to 2 cups. I presume no sugar, but milk?

They're 1 pint glasses so I'm pretty much on target I reckon?

I always have a big breakfast, but I do have the time for something like that, sounds good to me. Worth drinking during the day too? Or just in the morning?

I can cut down to 2 - I just like hot drinks, can you suggest a nice alternative to my cuppa? Yes, no sugar, and only a faint drop of milk.

Will, I've found it very useful and just feel better about myself as well. One in the morning and 40mins after training for me but I add in the Bicarb as well.

Try getting 6 pints then Will. Do that for a week or two and see how you get on.

As Alex says, adding sodium bicarb is ideal, but I don't like to scare people with that initially. But it sure is good. Get rid of DOMS too (almost completely).

Well, hot fresh lemon tea is good. As is ginger tea (pukka herbs do it: Tesco & Sainsbury's now sell it).

Oestrogen does indeed make us grumpy bitches but it's more the swings in hormone levels that cause issues, plus the pill which I am now firmly convinced is a bad bad thing can throw the balance of your hormones out so much you can get a total shift in body composition. I'm still suffering from years of being on the pill. I makes me furious the way it's just doled out like candy yet if you take gear it is vital to know so much. People keep forgetting that the pill is a steroid too and perhaps a little bit more investigation should be done.

Oggy is right here, but as Craig so eloquently puts it, it's not so simple. Big increases = beard, so too do things like polycystic ovaries or the menopause.

Water with a little fresh lemon or orange is nice - been chucking in the himalyan salts too sometimes. I think water is an often neglected 'nutrient' - am guilty of not drinking enough, certainly on days when I'm not so active.

One thing I'm not guilty of is drinking too little water. I must go through at least 5 litres daily and it's not like I'm forcing it down either.

Me either. It amazes me how little water a lot of people drink.

I generally make sure I drink lots on training days/days i'm doing a hike or if it's hot, but sat on my butt all day I get lazy with it. No excuse, more effort required :)
