Built but weak - becomming more common

Postby simon m on Fri Jun 03, 2011 2:51 pm

I don't know if any one else has noticed this, but there seems to be a large number of blokes who are a halfway decent size, in good condition, but seemingly weak as fvck.

Today I was doing chest and there was a tatooed wide boy in his wife beater, not as big as me, but built and condition wise sharp, but he could only manage 32kg bells? I then say him follow me onto the Iso Press and use less than 100kgs. I've noticed a few people people like this recently. Mainly younger guys who are pumped up, but not strong, loads of blacks like this as well.

Is it just me, or is this happening everywhere?

Seriously though, it's always been like that. Young juicers with no clue...

Clueless juicers fo sho - I notice more of it these days as well.

The funniest is this Polish chap in my gym - looks big enough but bloated and shit. Has a strong chest and that's pretty much it. He expressed no end of surprise (almost as if to say, "are you sure?") when I asked for the 55kg bells off him the other week. Yesterday, I saw him deadlifting 120kg for 5 reps. Twat!

Don’t let the sets last much longer than ten seconds, total. Kinda like sex with a hot chick, hit it hard for ten seconds.

He was pressing them to be fair. Like Rab, he benches more than he pulls.

DB shrugs with a huge forward shoulder roll, to really hit the scapulae from all angles...

Few decent sized young guys in my guy with decent builds but weak as shit who use a LOT of gear and think im telling them lies when i say im only using 400mg of test per week.

On that though..theres a lot of big guys who are also as weak as shit.

The common theme - none of them will you find under a squat rack, deadlifting of any variety or anything hard really

the weakness comes from targetted training that BB workouts produce - simple as really. With very little powe movements - you can see why this is becming more common
