Broken foot... Squatting

Postby xRichx on Mon Feb 23, 2009 11:57 am

I managed to stupidly break my first metatarsal on the weekend, and was wondering if there was any way of adjusting squats to enable me to keep training them over the next few weeks.

I'm thinking if I stand at a much closer stance I can somehow shift the weight to the outside edge of my foot rather than the inside, and therefore relieve pressure on that bone.

Anyone have any ideas?

I wouldn't risk it.

Stick with leg extensions & leg curls for now.

Any pressure on the bone will hurt and could cause more damage. And that's without even increasing your weight by adding a barbell to your back!

To be honest you're probably right.. I'm deliberately walking on the outside of my foot at the moment, so there's probably a good reason for not adding anything else onto it.

Fucked up my plan of Aquathlon in two weeks too, which is a right shitter.

That sucks Rich? How'd you do it? UDI?

Barely relevant but I followed your advice and went and checked TK Maxx for Chuck's yesterday- no joy unfortunately, but I did get a nice pair of Element skate shoes for twenty squid so it was still worth the trip.

Kick starting a bike... Foot went too close to one of the pegs and whacked it off of it. still passed tho, so all's good!

I've found some awesome trainers in tkmaxx before! Good times!
