From what little I've watched, you'd look like a right tool using a power rack like that!

Id agree and its what I thought first as well - the noise and all would certainly attract attention - but still - if it works.....just trying to see how and why? Clearly using speed and sudden stoppage to recruit maximum fast twitch fibres.....

The blast isometrics work on the same principle as speed work done by PL's but allow more speed as your not slowing it down your self, so nothing new there really just a slight imporvement on a old method but it will make you look like a tool.

Not a clue on twich reps, don't really remember CT explaining it at all.

agree- it will - but the sudden stoppage seems to have a lot of sense - just trying to think if you could stop it yourself with control as that would require even greater control?

That wouldn' t work as it the physical barrier that stops the rep and not a neural impulse which would slow down the firing of the fast twitch fibres.

I think you're better off with partials and stretches ala x-reps and fst.

I think there's far better ways to work your arms than that, unless you've been training smartly and hard for 10yrs non-stop then maybe have a pop at something like this for a change.

I just wonder what's wrong with ordinary full range reps... you'd think they were useless if you followed the methods of most of these 'top coaches'! :?

The idea is to train the CNS to fire more fast twitch fibres, normal reps work really well in muscles that have what would be known in the bodybuilding world as a mind muscle connection. However in lagging bodypart this connection (read CNS efficiency) is lacking hence these priming methods allow you a way around this.

TBH they are just tools in the arsenal and thibs does not treat them as anything else, its easy to take one video in isolation and take things out of context.

I've seen quite a few Rugby routines involving 1/4 rep Squats at speed which may fall into this category somewhat.
