Just now the door bell rings and Mrs M answers it and some bloke says' " are you the house owner", as the children are just being fed I get down the stairs as quikc as I can (which wasn;t quick!) and said "I deal with this" and the conversation went like this:

Spotty Scouse Twat: " Are you the house owner".

Me: "Who are you"

SSP: "I'm Daniel from xxxx adn I've been asked to see all the house owners on this street."

Me interruption: "Who asked you to see the house owners?"

SSP: "xxxx asked me to see."

Me gentlely closing the door "I'm not interested."

SSP: "You don't know what it is yet."

Me slightly firmer: "I don't care, I'm not interested."

SSP getting shirty: "How do you know your not interested if you don't know what it is?"

Me starting to lean towards SSP "Because I'm not interest and I'm saying 'goodbye now.'"

SSP really pissed off and trying to puff out chest and give me eyeballs: "You don't know what it is."

Me lowering voice and speaking forcefully: "I don't care Daniel, you want to go now. Goodbye Daniel." At this point I was going to chin him but I think he got the message.

hmm theres def been a marked change in your posting and stuff you say since your injury. you were way more mellow and chilled before and not as much agrressive in the stuff you say and how you say it - but then you are at home and even if you dont ack it - staying at home with little to do does change your personality and how you interact to a degree.

But in this case - Id have asked what it is - and then said its not something I am interested in and cut it short.

I must be the grumpiest of the lot of you when it comes to salesman, phone or door to door. All they get is no thank you and door shut or phone put down without option of a comeback.

Same goes for Jehovahs WItnesses. I don't like being preached to by anyone. I will go to them if I want to know about it.

At least I add the "thank you" part!

Jehova's Witnesses and the BNP are cunts for sticking their noses where they don't belong, but door to door people are just trying to put food on the table. Then again I don't suffer from them much.

I tend to feel sorry for door to door salsemen...especially during the scotish winter when it is pishing it down, bowing a gale force 6 and would freeze yer balls off...some wee dude comes to your door just trying to make a wee honest living for himself.

The only people i get pissed off with are salsemen from this company Aquaseal or something. They basically try and con you into getting ther roof clean ing and special paint shit that is apparently 1/2 the price of a brand new roof and guarantees a lot of shite....when all they do is trample and break your tiles, pressure wash it and charge you 2/3 of what a brand new roof costs. Twats

door knockers, telecanvassers, total pain in the arse but they are doing a job at the end of the day, not saying give them all carte blanche, but some genuinely have stuff to say- for instance, i got sold homecare cover for my drains, i just agreed to get the fcuker off the phone, anyway it has proved invaluable this week as I managed to bust my shitter, the waste pipe had blocked and was throwing out shit all over the back. i watched them get to work on the pipe and boy that is one job i wouldnt wish on anyone!

I'm a grumpy sod at times and I think in your predicament I'd have been the same. The worse is at night receiving sales calls, or on a sunday. Gets my goat. I'm polite, but forceful in telling them to "go away".
