that squat setup looks pretty dodgy. Are you not supposed to have the safety bars at the bottom so if you fail you can drop the bar?

I dont have satefy bars, he's trying to simulate a monolift which we use in comps.

Immensely impressive lift, though I feel I have to quote this (and resize it) for truth:

Seriously what are people's problems?!? Just because I lost balance after I squatted it and the spotter couldn't get the pins in quick enough, I knew what I was doing I didn't lose control or pull anything, If iI would I would have let go right away.

But Del wouldnt do something like that without a few more spotters.

excellent lift, though camera angle is a bit high to get a proper judgement on depth. excellent speed up though.

safety has to be your (and all around you) main priority surely.

Also, that road would piss me right off haha

Curt, people are telling you to be careful because, believe it or not they give a damn! If no one cared you fucked yourself up everyone would be saying aye great lets see 300kg next week. Instead everyone has noticed your progress and is more concerned about YOU rather than your lifts.

Stop taking everything so negatively

Curt

My only concern is you health and I agree with GB, KP et al.

You are a very good lifter, but you are a bit bone.

No one wants to see you get hurt.

People care about you, for that you should be grateful.

If you carry on being negative, I'll beat you

The joys of being an indestructable teenager springs to mind :)

I'm really impressed with your lifts Curtis! But serious injuries really sucks donkey's a$$ I got one playing footie in Denmark once I was out for like 6 months and it was the worst time ever when you are eager to come back but your damn knee just can't handle it :(

GL for your comp!

Curt you really are a loveable, stumpy bundle of fun.

A bunch of people that yo'uve never done anything to deserve concern from, worry about you hurting yourself... and all you can do is bitch about not getting a pat on the back?

You really need to grow up and deal with your need for attention and recognition.. you're like a small child nagging some grow ups to look at the painting you've done when they are talking.

I'm sure you'll be fine when you get a bit older, we were all cocks at your age.. its par for the course, but you want to be known as Curt the champion powerlifter, not Curt the whiny little attention whore.

As i said before, awesome that you moved that weight, but please focus on your safety, in 5 years time, i want to be able to say 'i know the World's PL champ', not.. 'i knew this kid once, amazing lifter, but his ego got the best of him and now he can barely walk'.

You strong git!

Two observations:

1 - Pretty obvious - That was bloody dangerous as has been said before - get better spotters!

2 - I'm not convinced you had depth - Some ref's would fail that IMO - But you probably know better than me - What do you honestly think?

I'd agree. looked an inch or two shallow. Sick lifting though. Went flying up with it. Great speed.

Good lift Curt, I guess everyones just trying to say that tendons and muscle strength go at different speeds. Basicly your getting too strong too quickly, now your probably smiling thinking.............. wells thats the name of this game right? Simple answer just be sure your willing to risk the price if you keep pushing this hard, how many times do you see a good junior who should go on to be a great athlete get some injury that nags all the way through his career (the answer is loads in every sport). Now I actually think true champs do what ever is necessary to win but the question is do you want the junior bench/squat British record or are you goals something bigger and can both been done without injury. Anyway Curt if you had no potential do you think anyone would care if you got injured (answer for stupid people: NO!).

I saw higher squats passed at the BPC British and at the GPC Worlds. Can't link as it isn't fair on that person though.

It is depth, in comp I may sink it an inch more to be sure, well normally I do without knowing anyway as nerves make me want to pass it for sure. But that is depth IMO.
