Wednesday 13th January - Conditioning Session with Alex

Movements

A1 - Viking Squat > Viking Over Head Press (Rest 60): 10xBar, 10x+20kg, 10x+20kg, 10x+20kg

B1 - Burpee Rack Pull Up (Rest 60): 10, 6, 5 (I really went wrong with movement and made it perhaps more difficult that it should have been)

C1 - Box Press Up > Box Dip (Rest 60): 10, 6, 6 (Much harder than it sounds as my upper chest was on fire as was my triceps)

D1 - Kettle Bell Swing (Rest 30): 10x12kg, 6x20kg 6x 16kg, 9 x 16kg

E1 - DB Curl > DB Shoulder Press 14kg x 8 x 3 sets

then 1 set of light lat raises to burn shoulders

Comments

Alex said "Si, come and do a full body workout, so I met with him expecting some leg presses, benching etc., and he decides to do a conditioning course - bastard!!! It was great fun, although I couldn't do a couple of the movements due to shoulder and I was hanging out of my arse, but this will get me fit and ripped, so I'm gonna do more of this.

Your Burpee's were quite funny as you were running back and forth over half the gym area for some reason. I thought you did well though all things considered as you've not trained Legs for over a year or done this form of CV.

Right Shoulder still feels bad, so not overdoing chest as I don't want the injury to worsen.

Leg strength is coming on quick which I expected as I also had strong legs before the injury.

Also nice new Aussie Female PT who I'd do down under!

Are you doing lots of RC warm-ups Si? I always do them before any pushing movements these days and am sure they help.

New Dumbells. On the left 48's next to the old 54's. The Drip is much wider and cambered which makes moving them about easier:

Looking good Si.

Those DB's look a lot better to use. Forgot how wide those old 54's were.

What's really good is the thickness of the grip. I think you'll be happy on Thursday.

Jeeeees. Those 54s look enormous! Ones in my gym are much more like your new ones with thick double-tapered grips.

I make my DBs up with the old style metal pro plates, makes for a much more manageable size
